Have one, but need something smaller for testing? Building a small portable multitouch pad will allow you to test software and experiment on a smaller scale while building your full table or when away from your multitouch screen. Have fun and make a MTmini! This uses Front Diffused Illumination, with normal ambient light (infrared not required or needed) and a normal off-the-shelf webcam (IR filter can still be in place). -How’s it Work?- ————————————- For this to work, all you need is a room with (at least) some light. The results will be best when the room lighting is even (no bright lights shinning from one direction onto the multitouch pad). When you place you fingers on the surface, shadows are created where your fingers are. The webcam sees these shadows and sends the image to the tracking software which tracks the shadows as they move on the surface. It’s important to try different lighting setups and to configure the software in order to get the best results. I can’t manage to make it working. I have a question about your touchpad. How did you manage to achieve white fingerprints in the black background without IR leds? Did you apply some sort of filter to your webcam or is there some sort of setting in touchlib? I believe that is my problem – I have white background and black fingers.
@Jesusability Depends on your pad. For example we have made (well, I’m a programmer only…) one at school which is pretty accurate. The only difference is that our pad is using IR LEDs istead of light (of course the webcam is cracked as well).

Hi guys…I tried the MTmini… its working everything is fine but I have a problem after I run the configapp, I get a white background and the shadows of my fingers r black…how can i get the result u had? I think thats the problem.
@themogam Try CCV (community core vision) instead of touchlib. You’ll get simpler and better results.
